The herb folks in Dana Point face a loaded gun, as it were, in the form of threats to steal all medical cannabis patients records,

if they are not 'turned over' by December 7th. Now about HIPAA law, the HITECH Act requirements, and security and privacy

compliance. Is this legal? Select Is Dana Point the Alamo from the menu for more information, or Hippa & Herb for our free form

2009-11-13 "I think everyone kind of had the same idea about appealing the order for the reason of protecting third-party names and some of the privileged items that we believe shouldn't be disclosed," attorney Lee Petros, representing the Point Alternative Care dispensary, told the Orange County Register.

All five medical cannabis outlets in Dana Point must hand over their records to the city by Dec. 7, according to a ruling by Judge Glenda Sanders. Sanders also ordered the disclosure of member names to be limited to city attorneys, a financial consultant retained for advice in the investigation, and the assistant city manager, "who will oversee and assist the consultant in his analysis," according to the Register.

Do you trust the government to be honest in this regard, after all you have seen? They say one thing and do another, at will, when it comes to our chosen medicine, in city after city, especially in rogue counties San Diego and Los Angeles. Do you take it on faith they will play fair? Why would you think that, since they don't respect state law, proposition 215, SB 420 et al. They have done as much as they can to wage a war of attrition on the sick and the dying, and their caregivers, while mouthing platitudes to placate the few who are actually awake and paying attention. Up and down our state, in town after town they conspire to put up roadblocks in front of patients, earning vast sums for the lawyers and talking heads.

Orange county has been known to be a 'conservative' stronghold, a bastion of "family values". Who leads these communities to enforce the laws big pharma lays down? They are the ones who make money pushing drugs people don't want oftentimes, but have no choice. This has the potential to be a disaster for the medical cannabis community. Are you listening, herb folks?
