The patients' stories are vastly credible, as everyone knows about the side-effects, and compelling. I've met many
people who have literally taken their lives back - working, interacting with family - just by using cannabis as their

Meet Mr. Geary

GEARY, Edward D. "Dennis" Of Carlsbad, California, formerly of Chelsea, passed on January 22nd, 2009 surrounded by

his loving family. He was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, on April 1, 1929, the son of Edward and Lillian (Kiernan) Geary.

A World War II Veteran, Geary served  his country in the United States Army. During the 1940's he not only held amateur heavyweight

boxing titles in Massachusetts, but his fierce competitive nature also provided him with enjoyment from several unsanctioned bouts.

As a Southern Californian, Mr. Geary was a very successful businessman and entrepreneur in the metal forming industry.

A self made man, in the true sense of the word, family and friends learned that he loved to give advice, even when not asked for.

He will be sorely missed and long-remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and others as a larger-than-life

role model who greatly influenced them in a positive way. He was generous, direct and always available to help others in their

times of need. Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Geary, whom he loved dearly; a loss from

which he never fully recovered. Mr. Geary is survived by his children: Brian Geary of Del Mar, CA, Debi Geary of Trabuco Canyon,

CA, Michael Geary ofKona, Hawaii, Lynn Gruwell Chambers of Gosport, Indiana, Greg Gruwell of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Jon Gruwell of Kona,

Hawaii. Also his grandchildren: Mitchell, Bree, Shea, and Paige Geary of Del Mar, CA, and Karli Chambers of Gosport, Indiana.

He is also survived by sisters Constance Madigan of Revere, MA, Jessie Geary of Saugus, MA, sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Dennis

Sullivan of Stoneham, MA; brothers and sister-in-laws John and Marie Geary of Chelmsford MA; Walter

and Martha Geary of Rowley, MA. Dennis was the brother of the late Elizabeth Geary, Marie Lynch, and Robert Geary.

* editors note He was a cannabis patient at the end of his life, too. Mr. Geary's son Brian was referred

to CANORML.ORG's patient listings page, by his father's doctor. He called the delivery service listed for Homebound Patients,

in early December 2008. His illness had progressed to the point where he was not eating, and they were desperate to keep their dad alive.

The HerbFolks provided various forms of medical cannabis to this suffering man, even lighting his pipe for him. It was an honor.

Meet Gary

This needs to be edited. The time line is not quite right. Edit it in any way you see fit.. add.. subtract... rearrange.

Otherwise, I believe it is all there. Use it in court. Make money selling it to Finderdolt Grubanstein.com.

I don't care. Gary.

Since I began in mid 2008, medical marijuana (a.k.a. medical cannabis) has helped me tremendously,

maybe even helping to stop my brain tumor cold. And so I am grateful for the people involved in

providing safe access.

My life changed when, one morning, at age 47, my wife was unable to rouse me from sleep.

She called a neighbor over. Gradually, they saw me stir. We thought that was the end of that.

Later that week on my way to work, I was sitting in a two-lane highway, stopped behind several cars.

Suddenly, I was rear-ended in a powerful crash, and left unconscious.

Coming to, I was in a hospital emergency room with my wife at my side. Semi-

conscious, I leaarned that doctors had ordered a CT scan. The scan happened to reveal an

old, calcified growth in my head. Doctors determined it to be a benign brain tumor.

Lethal only when it grows, it first formed when I was young, possibly around age 5.

Only now it was growing. "Marijuana May Stall Brain Tumor Growth."

"Marijuana Might Cure Brain Tumors." Reading such  headlines roused me to action.

Enter Dale R. I first contacted him from an ad I'd seen on a NORML. Then, for the first time,

the doctors had good news. They actually said I was cured.

Scans showed there was no more tumor growth. Previously, they insisted I would have,

without treatment, only 4 years left to live. Enter Dale R.: I first contacted him from an

ad I'd seen in a NORML website.I was fortunate, as few people are as knowledgeable as

Dale on the subject of cannabis and its medicinal qualities. I think of the ruthless,

bloodthirsty warlords in the drug trade, drug lords and their ilk that butcher up a family

or two at will, caught in a grotesque war on drugs. This is why I am grateful to live

in a place of semi-rational mandates, which allow for the compassionate use of cannabis.

The number of times we give politicians a blank check, and watch them throw huge amounts of

tax money at a complex problem, is obscene. And politicians waste money by launching programs

without ever testing them. In the corporate world, when preparing to launch a cam-

paign, companies will not spend a dime until they conduct focus groups, and do all the marketing

research needed to show that their campaign will be effective. In government, politicians only need

to look like they are doing something. This makes us wonder about how they deal with problems that

require intelligence, knowledge, and wisdom."You will need no further treatnent." I couldn't believe it.

While I do believe mainstream medicine saved me,

the cure was announced only a few weeks after starting a medical marijuana regime.

Now, I wonder how much of a "kicker" effect the marijuana medication had. The science says it had plenty

of effect. In the meantime, San Diego County fought against California voters,

who legalized medical marijuana...a fight that constitues an insane waste of tax dollars.

* editors note: Gary is alive today because of the holy herb. His caregiver is out on bail, having been

entrapped by SD police working with Naval and other Federal resources.

Hello; I had a thought today while reading your articles about the San Diego police force persecuting medical marijuana patients and care givers.

How does the ADA rights for the disabled play into this?

To me it would seem this is in violation of the ADA.If the ADA will prosecute any person {business} for violating disabled peoples rights would

they not prosecute the San Diego Police Department for violating disabled peoples rights?

I believe this is a big point here folks! The ADA has enough power to put the police and politicians in check! But they are a federal program so

it might just be a moot point. I will look into it and see what I can find out. If we can get a federal organization to help protect us against

federal and local prosecution it would be good for all disabled people. Disabled Americans are constantly persecuted for being disabled!

Believe me I know!! This is the true hate crime. Thank you for your time and consideration,

Brian C -Disabled American and Patriot!

Marijuana Is Safe, Effective Medicine

Cannabis, or marijuana as it is often called when referring to the drug form of the plant, is an effective medicine that is relatively safer than many

commonly-used pharmaceutical products. In the last several decades US doctors and patients have been denied legal access to this substance.
